The 502 Tow Truck helps keep the fleet rolling.  Built from durable ash with walnut trim, this truck is sure to be able to take on the toughest towing job.  The winch features an easy to grasp handle and has a cam action that will hold the load being towed in place.  This keeps the front of the truck being towed off of the ground like the real thing.  All trucks have a towing hole under the bumper so that the tow truck hook can be attached.  If ordering for children under 5, we recommend that the exhaust pipes be short, just above the cab.  Let us know when you order so that we can cut them for you.  Also, if you would like a tough, protective finish, you can apply polyurethane, or for a non-toxic finish, you can apply salad bowl finish.  We can apply either of these finishes for you if you would like for an extra $10.

The 509 Birdhouse is a simple yet functional birdhouse that you can use to decorate, or use for the real thing.  The sides have a ventilation slot and the bottom can slide out to allow cleaning of nesting material between seasons.  We recommend the pine versions for interior use or for use on a covered porch.  If you plan to put the birdhouse out in the weather, we recommend the cedar versions.  Kits are available that are great projects for kids individually or in groups.  Our kits feature pre-cut pieces, which are pre-bored for nails and marked.  Instructions, nails, and the perch are all included.  Quantity discounts for scout groups and other organizations.  Contact us to find out more.

The 510 is our version of an old school standby - the slate.  If your kids are like ours, they draw on anything they can get their hands on.  The slates work great for doodling as well as homework.  Instead of flash cards, try writing it out on the slate, so your child can watch you as you form your letters.  Works for simple math problems, too.  And they're not just for kids.  How about for leaving notes, or jotting down reminders.  Who knows where these slates can go.  Ours features a cypress frame with a weathered finish in your choice of milk paint colors to withstand rough treatment.  The "slate" is a piece of chalkboarded hardboard captured in the frame.
